Every Houston parent learns this the hard way once: you wait until two weeks before the party to book the bounce house, and the exact one your kid wanted is already gone. Here's how far ahead to reserve so that never happens to you.
We've been delivering parties across The Woodlands, Spring, Katy, and Humble since 2018, and the single most common question we get isn't about price or setup — it's "how soon do I need to lock this in?" The honest answer is "it depends," but it depends on a few very predictable things. Let's walk through them.
It starts with the season
Demand for inflatables in Houston is wildly seasonal, and the calendar is the biggest factor in how early you should book. As a rule of thumb, the warmer and more "party-friendly" the weekend, the further out our most popular units get reserved.
- Peak (March–June & September–October): spring birthdays, end-of-school parties, and fall festivals collide. Book 3–5 weeks ahead, and even earlier for a Saturday.
- Summer (July–August): water slides are the hottest item — literally. Aim for 2–4 weeks, sooner for a holiday weekend like the 4th of July.
- Off-peak (November–February): easier going. 1–2 weeks is usually plenty, though snow machines spike around the holidays.
Then it's about your event type
A backyard birthday with one bounce house is a very different reservation than a school carnival with ten units, generators, and a delivery window that has to thread between other vendors. The bigger and more coordinated your event, the more lead time you want.
- Single backyard party: one or two units, flexible placement. The shortest lead time — a couple of weeks in most seasons.
- Themed or "must-have-this-one" party: if your child has their heart set on a specific character combo or the 16' palm tree slide, book the moment you have a date. Specialty units are the first to sell out.
- School, church & community events: multiple units, permits, and insurance certificates. Give us 4–6 weeks so we can plan delivery and provide any additional-insured paperwork your venue requires.
Booking early protects your date — and your deposit
Here's the part people don't realize until they've been burned: a date isn't actually yours until it's reserved with a deposit. We hold equipment on a first-come basis, so a verbal "I'll probably book next week" doesn't keep anyone else from grabbing that unit for the same Saturday.
The good news is that reserving early costs you almost nothing up front. A small 20% deposit confirms your booking, and the balance isn't due until before your event. If Texas weather turns on you, our bad-weather policy lets you reschedule — so booking early is genuinely low-risk.
The customers who are happiest on party day are almost always the ones who booked a month out. They got the exact unit they wanted, and they weren't stressed.

What if you waited too long?
It happens, and it's not the end of the party. If your first-choice unit is gone, call us anyway — we keep a deep inventory and can almost always suggest a similar slide or combo that's still open for your date. Mid-week events and flexible start times open up even more options.
And if you're outside our standard delivery radius or need something same-week, a quick phone call beats the booking form every time. We'll tell you honestly what's available before you get your heart set on it.
The quick version
- Peak-season Saturday: book 3–5 weeks out.
- Summer water slide: 2–4 weeks out.
- Specialty / themed unit: the day you have a date.
- School or community event: 4–6 weeks for permits & paperwork.
- Off-season weekday: a week or so is usually fine.
When in doubt, reserve sooner — the deposit is small, rescheduling is easy, and the peace of mind is worth it. Ready to lock in your date? Browse the rentals or give us a call at 832-797-0057.
